Villans unchanged for Newcastle clash

Unai Emery has named an unchanged starting XI for Aston Villa’s Boxing Day trip to Newcastle United. 

The clash at St. James’ Park will see the Villans field the same side which beat Manchester City in their final outing before Christmas, with goalscorers Jhon Durán and Morgan Rogers keeping their places. 

Amadou Onana also starts again in midfield, meaning Youri Tielemans could begin the game in the more advanced position which saw him pick up TNT Sports’ Player of the Match trophy against Pep Guardiola’s side. 

Diego Carlos is back among Villa’s substitutes having shaken off a knock, where there is also a place for Jaden Philogene.
