Vincent Kompany tells Burnley players not to be in a bad mood after being relegated from the Premier League
Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League.
The Clarets barely lasted one season in the top flight with their fate sealed thanks to a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham.
Vicente KompanyThe German team hoped to hold on and took the lead in north London thanks to Jacob Bruun Larsen.
But that lead lasted just seven minutes when Pedro Porro tied the game, before Micky van de Ven gave Spurs the lead after 82 minutes.
Having lost just twice in their previous nine games, Burnley fans were hoping their team could make a late move to ensure their Premier League survival.
But a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham sealed their fate while also keeping Spurs' hopes of securing the Champions League alive.

After 37 games, Burnley have won only five, drawn nine and lost 23.
They have also scored just 40 goals so far this season, conceding 76, which is the third-worst total goals conceded in the division.
Speaking to talkSPORT after the match, Kompany said: “I don't want to see any anger or anything like that. Keep going.”
“The next season starts tomorrow and I know it can be very exciting, but we have to build up energy from day one.
“I don't think we'll have time to go on vacation, so we'll come back and pick it up.
“We built the energy from day one; starts tomorrow. “We have a week where we can now be together and keep the level high, so we leave with a positive attitude to get back in this position as soon as we can, in the Premier League.”
Former Burnley striker Chris Iwelumo was a co-commentator on talkSPORT 2 and said: “It's devastating. If you think about the work he did in the early days, you'll see there's a plan.”
“The task is to stay awake and do what is necessary.
“They got off to a very, very slow start and they got better and they've had a not bad run of late – I think it's two defeats in nine – but they haven't been good enough.
“They have conceded too many goals, they have lost points from winning positions too many, and it is about managing the games.
“When you score a goal, you put it in the back of the net; You don't need to dial again, just make sure you don't concede.
“You don't have to play the best football, just do what it takes to get the result.”
Burnley join Sheffield United, who have already been relegated to the EFL, while Luton could follow in 17th place. Nottingham Forest prepares to face Chelsea.
A single point in either of Forest's last two games would be enough to sink the Hatters.
