Roque, who only joined Barcelona in January from Athletico Paranaense, was not in Hansi Flick's plans for this season. A permanent sale had been sought, but the player's desire to join Betis – who only offered an initial loan – proved decisive.
MD have revealed the details of the loan agreement between Betis and Barcelona. Roque will remain with Los Verdiblancos until the end of the 2025-26 season, and a €25m purchase option will also be included. In the event of activation, Barcelona will retain a 20% sell-on clause. They also have the option to buy Roque from Betis, and could do so for €27.5 million.
Barcelona they decided not to insert a fear clause in the agreement, which means that Roque can face his parent club. Their first chance to do so will be on the weekend of December 7/8, when Betis host the Catalans at the Benito Villamarin.
