Supporters can now vote for your Aston Villa Player of the Month for December.
Unai Emery’s side contested eight matches last month, kicking off December with a 3-0 defeat at Chelsea before registering three successive wins.
Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash were on target in a 3-1 victory over Brentford at Villa Park, before the Villans made it back-to-back Premier League triumphs in B6 with a 1-0 success over Southampton just days later – Jhon Durán netting the only goal of the game.
The Villans duly turned their attention to European matters and registered a pulsating 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig in Germany, John McGinn and Durán twice putting the visitors ahead only to be pegged back each time, before Ross Barkley fired home a dramatic 85th-minute winner.
Emery’s charges returned to domestic action with a cruel 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest, The Reds scoring twice in the closing stages after Durán had put Villa in front at The City Ground.
The Villans soon got back to winning ways courtesy of an impressive 2-1 triumph against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, Durán and Rogers on target to secure all three points just before Christmas.
However, Emery’s side endured a Boxing Day to forget as they fell to a 3-0 reverse against Newcastle United at St James’ Park, before Villa’s final fixture of the year saw Watkins and Rogers find the net in a 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on home soil.
