Villa Park was a Winter Wonderland as Aston Villa recorded a superb victory over Manchester City on Saturday.
Jhon Durán swept home Morgan Rogers’ assist to open the scoring after 16 minutes, with Pau Torres having earlier seen his header clawed off the goal-line by Stefan Ortega and on to the crossbar.
Rogers’ low strike hit a post in the second half before the dynamic Villa midfielder converted captain John McGinn’s pass to double Villa’s advantage after the hour, with Phil Foden netting an injury-time consolation for the visitors.
It was an excellent all-round team performance against the reigning Premier League champions, as Villa recorded a third successive top-flight victory on home soil.
