It’s being dubbed as “The Big One” in Germany. Leaders Bayer Leverkusen host Bayern Munich in Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash with two points separating the two teams heading into this game.
Played at a ferocious intensity, Josip Stanišić gave Bayer Leverkusen the lead in the 18th minute. What makes this story incredible, is that Stanišić is currently on loan from Bayern Munich. The Croat’s goal puts Leverkusen five points clear of his parent club as the Bundesliga title race pendulum takes another huge swing.
It was Bayern Munich that switched off with Leverkusen taking a quick throw-in. With the ball in play, Bayern’s defence failed to respond and Sacha Boey lapse in concentration allowed Stanišić to ghost in at the far post.

Bayer Leverkusen continued to probe for a second with Nathan Tella forcing Manuel Neuer into an excellent save. A doubt for this game, Neuer made three saves in the span of 60 seconds.
Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen really do believe this season.
