Spain face England in the Euro 2024 final tomorrow Nico Williams set to start The Red in Berlin.
Luis de la Fuente is expected to stick with an unchanged midfield and attack for the final with Williams starting five of Spain's six games at the tournament.
Before the final showdown, de la Fuente supported Williams and his teammate Lamine Yamal to handle the pressure of such a crunch gamedespite his lack of final experience.
His faith seems well placed with great attention to both players while Barcelona continue their search for the transfer of Williams from Athletic Club.
Despite receiving less attention than his fellow winger, Williams has been highlighted as Spain's key threat by former England captain Wayne Rooney, who compared his rise to Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Williams is exceptional. He reminds me of Cristiano Ronaldo when I was young.”, according to his column in The Times.
“He's a big kid, he'll get the ball and sometimes he tries too hard, but he usually makes the right decision.
“He's an incredible threat in one-on-ones and scoring goals. England have to be really careful with him.”
Williams scored his first goal of the tournament in the 4-1 last 16 win over Georgia with three scores in 19 senior international appearances.
