With an eye on Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has opted to make nine changes for Saturday's clash with Cadiz – paid dividends in the end, with Joao Felix scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at the Nuevo Mirandilla.
It was far from vintage, but Barcelona didn't care – all that mattered was securing the three points. Xavi was happy, and saved a special praise for the winner of the Catalans in Andalusia (via AS Diary).
“Félix is a very talented player, yes. He is calm, he is always happy. He played a great game. We left him a little freedom of movement to exploit his talent and I think he did a wonder. The goal was done all by himself.”
Xavi also spoke in Tuesday's match with PSG, for whom Barcelona they just need to avoid defeat to book their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League. It is safe to say that the 44-year-old is very enthusiastic about the party.
“We have a war on Tuesday (against PSG). We want to do something big. The match comes during our best form this season.”
