'Welcome any time': Mauricio Pochettino prepares for awkward meeting at Chelsea as Soccer Aid coach
Chelsea say Mauricio Pochettino is welcome at Stamford Bridge at any time – and they won't have to wait long to put that to the test.
The 'bleus' are once again immersed in uncertainty, with the Argentine officially leaving the club by mutual agreement on Tuesday.
The former Tottenham manager had only been in the job for one season, overcoming inconsistent form to eventually guide the Blues to a sixth-place finish, as well as qualification for European football.
But despite having one year left on his contract, his time at Stamford Bridge is now over – but it won't be long until he returns to the pitch.
That's because Pochettino will return to ChelseaThe home of Soccer Aid on June 9.
That's just 19 days after his departure as Blues coach.
Fans on social media were quick to notice this as well.
“Just remembered that Pochettino will be managing Soccer Aid at Stamford Bridge in just over two weeks,” one fan wrote on X, along with two laughing emojis.
Another said: “Pochettino will also be managing at Stamford Bridge soon for Soccer Aid lol. Awkward.”
The now former Blues manager will be in familiar surroundings as he officiates the celebrity football game again.

Chelsea's statement confirming his departure read: “(Pochettino) will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge at any time and we wish him all the best in his future coaching career.”
