West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea Star Carney Chukwuemeka, according to the journalist Jacob Steinberg.

The 20-year-old's future is currently uncertain at Stamford Bridge as Enzo Maresca previously said The midfielder is unlikely to have a regular role in the Blues' first team this season, so he should leave the club to play consistently and develop his career.

Manchester United They have been linked with a move for the midfielder but Steinberg claims the Hammers are also interested in securing his signature and want him on loan before today's deadline.

The journalist also claims that West Ham director Tim Steidten is a “big fan” of his, who has a 40 million pounds release clause in his current contract, but the east London club are struggling to close the deal so it is unlikely they will be able to sign him today.

The east London club have already signed Guido Rodriguez to reinforce their midfield, while Carlos Soler is ready To join the club on loan following the departure of James Ward-Prowse to Nottingham Forest.

Chukwuemeka to West Ham

The youngster is considered a highly talented player and due to his recent injury problems and lack of playing time at Chelsea, he has not been able to develop his career. Therefore, a move to West Ham would allow him to play more regularly and that would help him reach his full potential.

The former Aston Villa The star is dynamic, strong, technically sound, can play with passes between the lines, has the ability to dribble past opposing defenders in tight areas and can also contribute defensively.

He would therefore be a smart acquisition for West Ham if they were to buy him. However, it seems unlikely that he will join before the deadline.

Julen Lopetegui has signed nine players this summer for a fee of over £125m. So perhaps they don't have the funds available to add more firepower and that's why they are forced to sign Soler on loan.

Meanwhile, after a few promising years under David Moyes, winning the Conference League, West Ham have decided to start anew and have appointed Lopetegui as their new manager. The Spaniard has made a promising start and hopes to continue to grow in the coming years.
