West Ham confirm George Earthy has been taken to hospital after sickening collision in update on youngster
West Ham youngster George Earthy was taken to hospital after receiving oxygen and being stretchered off in their defeat to Fulham.
The 19-year-old came off the bench in the 82nd minute against Fulham before a sickening collision with teammate Edson Álvarez occurred.
Earthy accidentally collided with Alvarez and was left lying on the field and his teammates immediately called for medical teams to come help.
They then ran onto the field and, after six minutes of treatment, which included the academy star receiving oxygen, he was placed on a stretcher.
The stretcher was placed in the back of a medical truck that took him into the tunnel for further care.
West Ham posted a message of support for Earthy on X.

The post read: “George Earthy receives a head injury and is stretchered off the field. We are all behind you George.”
The Hammers have since given an update on his condition, confirming that he went to hospital for an assessment but is awake after the crash.
“West Ham United can confirm that George Earthy will undergo an assessment at a London hospital this afternoon following the incident in which he was stretchered off during today's Premier League match against Fulham,” the statement reads. release.
“The midfielder, who came on as a second-half substitute to make his Premier League debut against the Cottagers, was taken off in added time.”
It also included an update from manager David Moyes, who said: “George suffered a head injury.
“He is awake and has been taken to hospital for further evaluation.”

West Ham was defeated 2-0 by Fulham at the London stadium with Andreas Pereira scoring both goals for the Cottagers.
