West Ham have reached an agreement to sign Carlos Soler from PSG

West Ham have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Carlos Soler on an initial season-long loan, according to Fabricius Romano.

The Hammers have been busy this window trying to provide new manager Julen Lopetegui with the resources he needs to achieve success this season.

They have already made nine signings, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug being the most notable names.

However, the east London club are keen to make another signing to strengthen their squad before the deadline. West Ham have been in talks with PSG over the signing of Soler for the past few days.

Soler joins West Ham

Now, Roman Lopetegui's team have reached an agreement in principle with PSG to sign Soler. The midfielder will join on loan for a season with an option to transfer. Permanent for £17m next summer.

The Hammers will cover his full salary and the player will now travel to London to undergo a medical before finalising the move.

He said:

“Confirmed: Carlos Soler to West Ham, off we go! Loan deal with option to buy agreed with PSG. West Ham will cover the salary as part of the deal. Soler travels to London for medical tests. “Ward-Prowse leaves West Ham and joins Nottingham Forest.”

The purchase option clause in Carlos Soler's loan agreement will be around 20 million euros, as agreed between West Ham and PSG.

Spanish exit Relief stated that this move was dependent on West Ham's current FFP situation, so have lent James Ward-Prowse leaves for Nottingham Forest to make way for Soler's arrival.

Lopetegui has signed Guido Rodriguez on a free transfer to bolster his midfield, but the Spanish manager does not have many technically sound midfielders at his disposal to help him implement his possession-based system at the London Stadium.

Therefore, signing a new midfielder is the right decision and Soler could be a smart signing as he already has experience playing at the highest level.

West Ham, meanwhile, have enjoyed a promising start under Lopetegui, although they lost their opening game. Premier League Game against Aston Villa.

Since then, they have beaten Crystal Palace in the league and AFC Bournemouth in the EFL Cup. They will now face Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend before the international break.
