West Ham in battle with Tottenham to sign Yann Bisseck
western ham United are reportedly in a battle with Tottenham Hotspur on a deal to sign Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck, according to Caught offside.
After becoming the new Hammers manager last summer, Julen Lopetegui decided to strengthen the centre-back position by signing Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo.
Still, the east London club have struggled defensively so far this season, conceding 29 goals in 16 league games. Southampton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and Brentford are the only clubs that have conceded more than the Spanish coach in the first division this campaign.
So it looks like West Ham are planning to address this issue by signing a new defender next year. Caught offside They claim the Irons have expressed interest in Bisseck after being impressed by his performances and scouting him closely of late.
Lopetegui's team are planning to make a concrete approach to sign him in January and are prepared to submit an offer of around £35m to persuade the Nerazzurri to cash in and they would be tempted to accept the offer if they received it.

The report says that Tottenham Hotspur are also in this race and they recently sent scouts to watch the player in action against Parma. The player was excellent in that game and his scouts were impressed with him. Therefore, the north London club also plans to submit a £35m bid to close the deal in January.
However, West Ham's German manager Tim Steidten could play a key role in convincing his compatriot to move to the London Stadium and beat city rivals Tottenham in this race.
Bisseck has recently signed an extension with Inter and therefore has a contract until 2029 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. The 24-year-old, who stands 6ft 4ins tall, is quick, strong, good in the air, comfortable playing out from the back and efficient in defensive contributions.
Earlier this season, he started against city of manchester and Arsenal in it champions league and kept a clean sheet in both games. Inter defeated the Gunners 1-0 and drew against the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium.
Bisseck is a talented player and it would be a huge coup for West Ham if they finally manage to secure his service in the upcoming winter window.
