West Ham United are reportedly “in talks” with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal to sign Carlos Soler before next week's deadline, according to the Standard.
After sacking David Moyes, the Hammers have decided to sign Julen Lopetegui as their new manager. The Spaniard has had great support this summer, as he has been able to sign eight new players to refresh the squad and implement his style of football.
The former real Madrid The manager has prioritised strengthening the defence and has signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo. In addition, the attack has been strengthened with the signings of Niklas Fullkrug, Luis Guilherme and Crysencio Summerville.
However, only Guido Rodriguez has been brought in for midfield and it now appears Lopetegui is looking to add more firepower in this position with Soler now emerging as a serious option.
According to the report of the StandardWest Ham are 'in talks' with Les Parisiens to sign the Spaniard and are looking to secure his signature on a loan deal with the possibility of making the transfer permanent next summer.
Soler joins West Ham
The 27-year-old, valued at around £17m by Transfer marketHe still has three years left on his current contract, so PSG are likely to demand a considerable amount of money to let him leave the club.
After moving to the Parc des Princes from Valencia in 2022, Soler has found it difficult to secure his signature in the French giants' starting XI in recent years.
He was in PSG's squad for their opening Ligue 1 game against Le Havre last weekend but did not come off the bench in this encounter.
Soler could therefore be tempted to move away from Luis Enrique's team in order to play regularly at this stage of his career. Therefore, the east London club could manage to convince him to join the club this summer.
The Spanish international is a technically gifted player and could be an ideal option to play in Lopetegui's possession-based style of play. As such, Soler would be an excellent acquisition for West Ham if they manage to secure his signature before the end of this transfer window.
