Manchester United fans were impressed by Ruud van Nistelrooy's support for Alejandro Garnacho after the 1-0 win over Fulham.

Legendary United striker Van Nistelrooy recently returned as the new assistant at Old Trafford and oversaw a victory at the last gasp on the opening night of the new season.

Garnacho came on as a substitute in the 61st minute and provided the assist for the goal. Joshua Zirkzee's 87th-minute winner with an excellent center.

However, the young Argentinian made a terrible mistake in added time, shooting wide of the open goal.

Former Republic of Ireland striker Tony Cascarino is expecting big things from the forward this year.

Cascarino told talkSPORT: “United are a team that I think when Garnacho is on… he's the most typical United player they have.

“It reminds me a bit of a Garnacho from yesteryear. I think they will do very well this year.”
