'What are you doing?' Mohamed Salah questioned his Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister and never did it again
Mohamed Salah's influence on his Liverpool teammates knows no limits: ask Alexis Mac Allister.
The Egyptian is undoubtedly the club's talisman on the field, but it seems Salah's dominance off the field is met with a little more respect than most.
Even if you are a World Cup winner and you are friends with Lionel Messifollowing the advice of Liverpool ahead is high on the list of priorities.
Salah offered some advice to Mac Allister on the midfielder's training attire during the harsh winter months on Merseyside, and the Argentine was happy to follow the Egyptian's advice.
Speaking to Liverpool's YouTube channel, Mac Allister was seen training in shorts during a period of bad weather on Merseyside, while others wore long pants to keep warm in the wet and wind.
When asked about his choice to wear a pair of shorts, Mac Allister said: “When I was at Brighton I used to wear trousers.
“Then I came here and I remember against Sheffield (United) we went out to warm up and I was wearing a cap and trousers and Mo Salah said to me: 'What are you doing, why are you wearing that?'
“Since that day, I have never worn pants. It’s just because of Mo.”
Mac Allister and Salah became teammates last summer after the Argentine moved to Anfield for £35million as part of Jurgen Klopp's midfield rebuild.
And the 25-year-old has not disappointed, helping the Reds mount a credible challenge for the title while featuring in last month's Carabao Cup final over Chelsea.
The midfielder has scored five goals in 34 appearances in all competitions and, more recently, has formed a solid central partnership with Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo.
Mac Allister has fitted seamlessly into the Reds' midfield since his arrival and recently spoke about his intention to stay at the club long-term.
“It's crazy because from the first day here I really felt a connection that I haven't felt at any other club,” he told The Independent.
“I hope I can spend many years here.”
