The Egyptian talisman now has 213 goals for the Reds, putting him fifth in the club's all-time scoring charts and closing in on Billy Liddell's tally of 228.

As Salah continues to conquer the league, his usual yoga pose or skyward-pointing celebrations have been replaced by an archery-style gesture.

And with Liverpool fans hoping to see him regularly this season, talkSPORT.com has analysed what he means.

Why did Salah adopt the 'goalkeeper' celebration?

Salah has never revealed his boyhood club, despite hinting that he has always been a fan of Liverpool teams in the past.

Many fans, including former Tottenham striker Mido, believe Salah has now hinted at his allegiance and that his new celebration is a nod to Egyptian Premier League side Zamalek SC, whose crest features an Egyptian pharaoh holding a bow and arrow.

Mido wrote via X: “The legendary Salah celebrates with the Zamalek logo, he will never forget the favor Zamalek did for him.”

Salah was close to signing for Zamalek in 2011, but decided to join Swiss club Basel instead.

This has led Zamalek fans to believe that the goalkeeper's celebration is a tribute to the club's famous logo, as it signifies the link between bravery both on and off the pitch.

Others, meanwhile, have interpreted it as a spontaneous reaction to two well-taken goals, so it will be interesting to see if Salah continues like this this season.

Salah says he hopes to continue this scoring streak for the rest of the campaign.

He said: “I'm always trying to help the team all the time.

“The most important thing is for the team to win the game. I am always happy to score goals or provide assists again, so I just have to keep going.”

“We just have to play our football and enjoy our games and we'll see at the end.”

Salah has also spoken out about his future as he enters the final year of his current Liverpool contract.

He added: “Before the season I thought: 'I have one year left, let's enjoy it and not think about the contract'.”

“I don't want to think about next year or the future, I just want to enjoy the last year (of my contract) and see.

“The most important thing is to live one day at a time and just be grateful to be here.”
