What Jude Bellingham said to Harry Kane before the penalty

Harry Kane scored the penalty to put Bayern Munich in a 2-1 lead at the Allianz Arena last night before Vinicius Jr. equalised seven minutes from time with it all to play for at the Santiago Bernabéu next week.

Before Kane took the penalty, England teammate and Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham played mind games with his compatriot, something which Kane blocked out on his preparations.

Focused on the task at hand, Kane admitted to not hearing what Bellingham said on the pitch, but asked the 20-year-old after the game: “In the moment, I didn’t know what he said but I spoke to him after and he said: ‘I know you’re going to go left of the keeper’, said Kane

“The penalty was pretty good, I saw the goalkeeper move a little earlier.

“On the pitch, I knew he was there but I didn’t know what he said. But I went left anyway. It was nice for me because I saw the keeper go a little bit early and I put it away.”

With the tie level at 2-2, Bayern Munich will face a difficult task in Madrid next week, but a Champions League final is certainly achievable.
