But there was no sponsor on the front of the shirts, leading to speculation the Blues could start the season without one.

This comes after the one-year sponsorship deal with Infinite Athlete expired, a deal that was only finalized late last summer.

The short-term deal was reached in September 2023 and Chelsea started the season without a sponsor on their shirts.

The deal was supposed to be a temporary measure until Stamford Bridge bosses could reach a long-term agreement with Infinite Athlete or another firm.

But no deal has been reached, leaving Chelsea in a similar situation to 12 months ago and with a strong chance of starting the season without a sponsor for a second successive season.

And with the shirts already manufactured by Nike, they will have to wait before they can change the front of the kits.

However, Chelsea have revealed that Infinite Athlete will remain on the front of the shirts, but only for pre-season.

For some fans, it is not right to play without a sponsor on the front of the shirt, as their rivals mostly have strong partnerships with companies.

However, others are happy with the retro-style feel provided by the absence of a company logo on the kit, which was the norm before the 1980s.
