Ruben Amorim will not officially take charge of Manchester United on Monday, talkSPORT understands.
The 39-year-old man was confirmed as replacement for Erik ten Hag on November 1st.
However, the Red Devils agreed to allow him to remain in charge of Sporting for three more games.
Their last match will take place on Sunday night in Braga before the international break.
Amorim was going to start on Monday at Old Trafford, with his first United match against Ipswich on November 24.
Its long-awaited arrival will now be delayed once again.
This is because the Portuguese coach is still waiting for his work permit.
As a result, he will not be able to officially take up his role as United manager as planned.
