According to Sky Germany, Arsenal are closely monitoring Leroy Sané’s situation at Bayern Munich.
It had previously been reported that Der Rekordmeister were looking to tie the German international down to a long-term contract at the club. However, over recent weeks, it has become clear that Bayern have not ruled out the possible sale of Sané this summer.
This has, therefore, allowed Arsenal to consider the potential of luring the 28-year-old back to the Premier League. The Gunners’ head coach, Mikel Arteta, knows Sané well from their time at Manchester City, and the pair share a great relationship.
As well as this, Sané also stated how highly he appreciates Arteta as a coach during an interview in April: “Thanks to him and his ideas, I improved quickly. I still have them in my head and try to implement the ideas in my game.”
Despite this, it is understood that Sané is fully focused on Bayern and sees his future in Bavaria. There is an expectation that the former Schalke winger will sign a contract extension with the record champions, seeing him stay beyond 2025.
Regardless, should this change, then Arsenal will look to do what they can to make Sané theirs.
