Winners and losers of tenacious Tottenham's January transfer window, surprise big spenders and worry Newcastle
The January transfer window has yet to see the fireworks of 12 months ago, but some clubs will be much happier with their business than others.
The window slammed shut on Thursday night at 11pm and it was one of the quietest days and months I can remember.

Winners
Tottenham
Tottenham started the January transfer window with intent and secured a loan deal for Timo Werner and the permanent signing of Radu Dragusin was quickly resolved.
There were also some exits with players like Eric Dier, Hugo Lloris and Ivan Perisic heading towards the exit.

Everton
The Toffees are in the Premier League relegation zone and need to turn things around to get out again.
They would be in a much stronger position if they hadn't been docked ten points, but their problems with FFP meant they didn't sign anyone.
Instead, Mason Holgate joined his rivals. Sheffield United the deadline day.

Eddie Howe's side are having a much tougher time this season, sitting eighth in the Premier League and out of Europe entirely.
Newcastle have been hampered by injury problems and have been unable to sign players due to FFP limitations.
There has been more talk about the players who could leave in his place, with Kieran TrippierCallum Wilson and Miguel Almirón all linked with departures.
They kept their stars, but they have not been able to get stronger.

Crook added: “Newcastle looks weak. In an ideal world they would have liked to sign a couple of players, kalvin phillips being one of them.”
The Magpies will likely be forced to sell in the summer if they want to add players.
