Speaking exclusively to Sky Germany, Jonathan Tah believes Xabi Alonso is “100 percent” committed to Bayer Leverkusen despite rumours linking the Spaniard with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Liverpool.
“I don’t have the feeling at all that he is busy with other things – other than us and Leverkusen,” said Tah. “He is 100 percent committed. You just feel that he is there and is focused on it, everything about him.
“No player can influence what happens in the summer. In the end ht will probably decide for himself and so will that club. All I can say is that you don’t have the feeling at all that he is somewhere else in his head.”
As reported earlier in the month, Bayern Munich have already made first contact with Alonso as the Rekordmeister search for their successor to Thomas Tuchel, who will leave the club at the end of the season. It is understood that the record champions have received a positive signal from the Spaniard about making the move to Bavaria at the end of the campaign. Nevertheless, a final decision is far from being made.
However, with the treble still on for Bayer Leverkusen with the club unbeaten across all competitions this season: Bundesliga, Europa League and the DFB Pokal, Alonso’s focus is only on Die Werkself.
