Barcelona pride themselves on having a very good group of young players, and they tied one of the most impressive to a new contract earlier this week, which is Pau Cubarsi. The 17-year-old has extended his stay until 2027, with the expectation of a new renewal coming his way when he turns 18.

Xavi Hernandez was asked about the renewal of Cubarsi during his press conference on Sunday (via MD), and expressed his delight at having so many impressive youngsters in his first-team squad.

“Pau is a home player, so it's a big renewal for us. With Hector, also with Marc Guiu, they are home players who are stretching. It's great news for the club.”

Another of Barcelona's young guns is Pedri – it is easy to forget that he is only 21. Xavi was asked about his availability for Euro 2024, and he confirmed that Spain can select him for the tournament.

“It's not up to me that he's going to the Euros. I see him doing well, he's training at 100%. We've tried to manage his situation, and he's in a good place now.”

Having Pedri at the Euro would be a big boost for Spainand now it is almost certain that he will go, given that Barcelona they gave their blessing. All parties involved will be praying that he can stay fit during the coming weeks.
