Yoane Wissa's incredible scoring statistic that shows he is more prolific than Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer
Yoane Wissa was the star again for Brentford as his brace helped beat Bournemouth in a five-goal thriller on Saturday afternoon.
The 28-year-old now has seven Premier League goals this season, with the forward having scored in each of his four home games for the Bees so far.
Thomas Frank's men came from behind to claim a 3-2 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium, with Wissa scoring in each half.
The DR Congo international's first goal in the 27th minute brought his team back on level terms after finding the back of the net with a clinical header.
And his delicate strike on Kepa Arrizabalaga in the 58th minute proved to be the winner to lift Brentford to tenth place.
It means that Wissa has scored 15 goals without penalties in 2024.
Only Erling Haaland has scored more with 20.
Wissa's heroics mean he has been more prolific than Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer when you take away penalties.
In his four home games this season he has contributed six goals and one assist.
With seven goals, he is now tied with Liverpool's Salah and Chelsea's Palmer in the 2024/25 season goalscoring charts.
Only Chris Wood, Bryan Mbuemo and Haaland have found more goals.
Brentford fans were expecting a tough clash against Bournemouth, with the visiting team having beaten Arsenal and Manchester City in recent weeks.
But the Cherries knew they were facing a rampaging Brentford side, who had scored 19 Premier League goals before the game.
In their previous two home league games, they had beaten Ipswich 4-3 before beating Wolves in a 5-3 win.
It was Bournemouth who took the lead early in the match and Evanilson scored the first goal in the 17th minute.
Wissa then scored his sixth of the season with a calm header to equalize as things were level until half-time.
In the second half, Bournemouth took just four minutes for a well-worked short corner routine that led to Justin Kluivert putting the Cherries ahead.
After a minute, the score was level again thanks to Mikkel Damsgaard, who opened his scoring account in the Premier League.
And it was Wissa who scored the winning goal just before the hour mark in what turned out to be another exciting encounter at Brentford.
The victory puts Brentford right in the top half of the Premier League table, with Bournemouth just one point off 11th place.
Brentford will face Everton at Goodison Park after the international break.
