According to Patrick Berger, Youssoufa Moukoko’s move from Borussia Dortmund to Real Betis is off.
It had previously been reported that a number of sides were interested in luring the 19-year-old away from the Westfalenstadion this summer.
Initially, it had appeared as though Marseille were set to sign Moukoko, but a deal with BvB collapsed in the final stages.
Despite this, a number of Ligue 1 and Serie A sides stated their intent on offering the striker a route out of Dortmund.
Regardless, Real Betis looked to act quickly and had agreed a deal in principle with Moukoko.
It is understood that the Spanish side were hoping to pay Dortmund €13–€14 million, a fee that would have only been mandatory if Betis qualified for the Champions League.
However, this was not deemed enough for Die Schwarzgelben, which led to the deal ultimately collapsing.
Instead, Betis will look to sign Vitor Roque from Barcelona, leaving Moukoko’s future, once again, at a standstill.
