“I can't imagine him turning him down, but maybe it's just my bias. I'm trying to put myself in his shoes, but he didn't grow up a Liverpool fan, did he?

“The reality is that I would be surprised if they offered him the Liverpool manager's job and he turned it down. I would be surprised.”

And Murphy has also revealed that he would be surprised if Klopp moved to Munich, citing fatigue as his reason for leaving Liverpool.

“He seems (to be) a man of his word, it seems like a genuine reason for him (to leave), I can't think of an ulterior motive behind this for him to then say, 'I'm going to be' working somewhere else.”

Denying any possibility of a tie-up with Bayern, he stated: “Jürgen Klopp will not coach any club or national team for a year after this season. That remains unchanged.”
