According to BILD journalist Christian Falk, Arsenal could go head to head with AC Milan to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer.

The 20-year-old is currently in his first season with Leipzig, but has barely started due to fierce competition from Yussuf Poulsen and Lois Openda. The forward has played less than 1,000 minutes so far.

This has spread speculation that he could leave the club at the end of the campaign. speaking to Caught offside, falk He has now revealed that Arsenal are keeping an eye on the striker, who has a £42m release clause.

The respected journalist added that the Gunners may need to be wary of competition from Milan, who are currently offering £34m to sign the highly-rated centre-forward.

He said: “Benjamin Sesko (20) came to Leipzig in the summer for 24 million euros. AC Milan is currently offering 40 million euros. Arsenal are also keeping an eye on the attacker. He has an exit clause of 50 million euros (contract until 2028).”

Talented forward

Sesko arrived at Leipzig with a great reputation thanks to his time at Red Bull Salzburg, but has struggled to play regularly in the first team. The Slovenian has still made his mark with 8 goals in all competitions for his club.

Milan could see Sesko as a replacement for Olivier Giroud and have already made an early move to sign him. If Arsenal are also interested, they will need to formalize their interest with an approach soon.

The Gunners have lacked consistency in the attacking department this season. In it first division, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have scored a combined 9 goals between them so far.

Sesko is far from a complete forward right now, but he has the potential to become one in the long term. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will pursue him or consider a more proven signing.

Brentford Ivan Toney and napoli Victor Osimhen are among the Gunners' high-profile striker targets but will cost a premium fee, more than double what Sesko could be signed for.
