It’s going from bad to worse for Bayern Munich. The reigning champions today confirmed that they will be without Noussair Mazraoui for their upcoming games after the Moroccon defender suffered a hamstring injury during their defeat against Bochum on Sunday.
This comes just three days after Bayern Munich announced that Sacha Boey had pulled a hamstring during training prior to their game against Bochum, which leaves them short defensively.
After missing the last three games through injury, Alphonso Davies is training with the ball again following a strained medial ligament. It’s unclear as to when the Canadian will return to full training, but it’s some good news after what’s been a difficult week for Bayern Munich.
Konrad Laimer has also been training individually with the ball again. The Austrian has been sidelined since January 25 with a calf injury, missing Bayern’s last 10 games.
With Mazraoui, Boey and Laimer all out for the moment, Kicker suggest that Joshua Kimmich could deputise at right-back, meaning a return in midfield for Aleksandar Pavlovic. Bayern are also without Dayot Upamecano for their Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig after the Frenchman was sent off for a second bookable offence against Bochum.
