David Alaba has set a 'role not played' at Euro 2024

Real Madrid defender David Alaba will join Austria for Euro 2024.

The veteran defenseman missed the second half of the season with a knee injury.

Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti has chosen to keep him involved in the first team in recent months because of his experience.

He was included in their squad for the UEFA Champions League final win against Borussia Dortmund despite not being fit to play in the Wembley Stadium clash.

This pattern is expected to be followed at Euro 2024 with the former Bayern Munich star joining the panel in a non-playing role for the coming weeks.

According to reports from BrandAlaba was included on the coaching staff of Ralf Rangnick, and supports the national match from the bench, but does not play on the field.
