The Egyptian international took to social media to shows off her new look and attracted quite a bit of attention online.

And that included a message from Everton Striker and social media charlatan Maupay, who couldn't resist a cheeky response with an X post.

Reposting Salah's initial image of his new hairstyle, Maupay wrote: “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Welcome to the slap club, brother.”

Salah's new hairstyle might look a bit like Maupay's shortened barnet.

But that could be where the similarities between the two players on either side of the Mersey end.

However, fans loved Maupay's comment with one saying: “This guy should become a comedian after retiring from football. Top-notch banter.”
