Former Arsenal star Lukas Podolski is worth £180m thanks to business empire signing up Backstreet Boys for festival

Arsenal cult hero Lukas Podolski has recruited iconic American band Backsreet Boys to headline his upcoming music festival..

The 38-year-old, who currently plays in Poland for Gornik Zabrze, has earned a £180 million fortune thanks to its forays into the kebab and ice cream industry.

Podolski launched its dessert brand Ice Cream United in 2017, before following up with its first chain Mangal Doner the following year.

There are currently more than 30 kebab branches throughout Germany, four of them in his beloved Cologne, where he went through the club's academy.

And last year, the 2014 World Cup winner created the Glucksgefuhle festival together with his business partner Markus Krampe.

It turned out to be a great success: more than 135,000 people visited the jamboree at the Hockenheimring in Baden-Wurttemberg, making it the largest festival in Germany.

This time, more than 200,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which will be held from September 12 to 15.

And none other than '90s favorites the nine-time Grammy Award-nominated Backstreet Boys will headline the Euphoria Stage.

It is the only concert in Germany that the band, famous for their hits 'I Want It That Way' and 'Everybody', will perform this year, along with Lost Frequencies and Martin Garrix.

Fans will also be able to participate in soccer tournaments during the festival, as well as races on a kart track, which will also feature a Ferris wheel and a carousel.

Those looking to attend the festival will have to shell out £68 for a day ticket, while they'll have to shell out £162 for a weekend pass.

Podolski joined the gunners in 2012 and quickly became a big fan favourite, scoring 16 goals in all competitions in his first season.

Arsenal fans set off fireworks outside Manchester City's supposed hotel before the Tottenham game, but failed to notice that Pep Guardiola's team was not saying anything there.

The striker then helped end Arsenal's nine-year trophy drought, where he started in the 3-2 FA Cup final victory over Hull in 2014.

He fell down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger during his third campaign, leading to him being loaned to Inter Milan during the 2015 winter transfer window.

And he was then sold to Galatasaray that summer, but despite only being at the club for three years, he remains a popular figure among Arsenal fans.
