Haaland was unable to replicate his record-breaking first season at the club, where he recorded an incredible 36 goals in 35 league games.

His exploits earned him the Premier League Player of the Season award and led City to a historic treble.

However, the aura surrounding the 23-year-old has changed somewhat this season coinciding with a two-month mid-season break.

His return to action was greeted with review by Roy Keane who compared the striker's attributes to those of a League Two player following his performance against Arsenal in March.

Despite scoring seven goals in City's last five league games during the title race, Haaland failed to prevail in the Champions League double-header against real Madrid last month.

But Grealish jumped to his team-mate's defense and brought Haaland's impeccable work ethic to light.

“I've said many times before that he's an incredible man, he's just a killer,” Grealish said in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT. “This season he has scored 27 goals in the League. He's a little disrespectful, it's like he's no good.

“It's incredible, it's there every time the ball is in the area. I can't say enough about him. I get along very well with him, he's a brilliant guy, it's very good to have him around.

“To me, that shows why it's so successful.”
