As reported by Sky Germany, Vincent Kompany has verbally agreed to become the next Bayern Munich manager.

Over the past few months, Der Rekordmeister have been rejected at every corner. Whether it be Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick, and many others, the record champions have been met each time with a door being slammed back in their faces.

However, as previously reported, it appears as though Bayern have finally found Thomas Tuchel’s successor in Vincent Kompany. It is understood that the former Manchester City defender is excited to become the new head coach at Bayern, and he is confident that he can return the club to the top of the German game.

Now talks have begun between the Rekordmeister and Burnley surrounding a compensation fee for the former Belgian international. At this stage, the move could certainly still fall through, but there is optimism that a deal can be reached.

Kompany, who had first gained experience with Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League, helped guide Burnley back to the Premier League. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old was unable to keep his side in the English top flight, but this disappointment was not enough to prevent Bayern from believing that he is the person to take the reigns in Bavaria.
