Aston Villa legend Gabby Agbonlahor is not worried about rumors linking superstar striker Ollie Watkins with Liverpool.

Watkins helped Villa seal a unlikely place in next season's Champions League with an impressive 19 goals in the Premier League last season.

Sun claims new Liverpool manager Arne Slot wants the 28-year-old to replace Reds striker Darwin Nunez ahead of his first campaign at Anfield.

However, Agbonlahor insists that there is no way town will sell their star player, not even for £100 million.

“I'm not worried at all,” the Villa icon said when asked about Liverpool's interest in Watkins.

“You're going to hear these rumors because of how well he's done.

“He is 'Mr. Dependable' and his injury history is outstanding. He doesn't get injured. He goes out, no matter what.

“19 goals in the Premier League last season… outstanding. No penalties. His finishing has become very clinical.

“In October he signed a five-year contract until 2028. Aston Villa has to be sold. But I prefer to sell shares than give Watkins to anyone.

“It's going to cost you £100m, and I don't think they'll sell it for £100m.

“Aston Villa are building. Unai Emery has just signed a five-year contract.”

Agbonlahor, who spent his entire 13-year career at Villa Park, is the club's all-time top scorer in the Premier League with 73 goals.

Jeff Stelling claims it would be an insult to Jurgen Klopp to suggest new Liverpool manager Arne Slot can get the best out of Darwin Nunez.

Watkins already has 59 to his name after four seasons at the club, and Agbonlahor will be hoping the Englishman breaks his record.

“Records don't bother me,” Agbonlahor added. “I wasn't a clinical striker who played for 15 years at Villa.

“For half my career I played left back for a team that was struggling in the Premier League.

“So my record should be broken. He needs 15 goals. He will break it in January or February.

“I want him to stay and I also want him to play in England as a forward for Villa. So I hope he gets minutes in the euros“.
