Real Betis boss says 'circumstances are not right' for Real Madrid star to sign this summer

Real Betis president Angel Haro spoke to the media on Thursday to provide a sporting update ahead of the summer transfer window opening in just over three weeks. Possible arrivals and departures were discussed, and one of the names that was supported was the midfielder of Real Madrid Dani Ceballos.

Ceballos' future looks uncertain after a clear lack of playing time for Los Blancos last season, and a possible return to Betis has been mooted. However, Haro admitted (via AS Diary) that the Verdiblancos are very unlikely to make a move this summer.

“The probability of him coming to Betis is remote. The circumstances are not good for him to end up here.”

Haro also discussed the situation of Guido Rodriguez, whose chance to move to Barcelona this summer it seemed to go up in smoke. He admitted that he did not expect a new contract to be signed by the Argentine pivot, meaning that he would leave The Real Betis as a free agent later this month.

“I see it as complicated because we made a renewal offer at the time and there was no response. Being now a free player, he will have interesting options. He has been a great professional here, but the market is what it is.”
