On Saturday, Sevilla officially announced that Quique Sanchez Flores will step down as manager at the end of the season. The option was available to extend the partnership for an extra 12 months, but it has not been activated, meaning that a replacement is required.
According to Relief, Sevilla has already lined up its main goal – this is Jagoba Arrasate, who will leave Osasuna at the end of the season. He is highly regarded among the leaders of the Andalusian giants, who are ready to make his move in the coming weeks.
However, Sevilla will face competition for the signature of Arrasate, as Mallorca has it lined up as a replacement for Javier Aguirre, who is also set to leave his post once the last round of matches next weekend. Talks between the two parties are said to have progressed in recent days.
It means that Seville have time to compensate if they have to convince Arrasate to become their manager. It remains to be seen how this plays out in the coming weeks.
