Now, writing in The Athletic, Ornstein has reported that Gallagher has entered the final 18 months of his current contract, so Chelsea would be keen to cash in on the midfielder at the end of this window to make the most of his departure. Therefore, it is a big boost for Tottenham to sign the midfielder before Thursday's deadline.
The journalist also states that three first division The clubs, which are currently in the top half of the table, have already made 'inquiries' to find out the details of Gallagher's signing and Tottenham could be one of them.
