Bundesliga Predictions | Round 32

In this weekly feature, hosts of the Gegenpressing podcast Stefan Bienkowski and Manu Veth face off with their predictions for the forthcoming Bundesliga matchday fixtures. It’s three points for a correct score and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Manu’s Game of the Week: Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich

I am headed to Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich on Saturday. But that’s not the only reason that is my match of the week. I think this is going to be a very entertaining fixture on and off the pitch. I am very curious to see how Bayern will approach this just days ahead of facing Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League. Plus, there is all that noise with Ralf Rangnick now having turned down an offer to join the club. As for Stuttgart, they will fully open the MHP-Arena, just days after qualifying for the Champions League. This will be a celebration for the club and should create a fantastic atmosphere.

Manu’s Predictions:

  • Hoffenheim 0-2 RB Leipzig
  • Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Augsburg
  • Wolfsburg 2-0 Darmstadt
  • Werder Bremen 2-0 Gladbach
  • Stuttgart 2-2 Bayern Munich
  • Köln 1-2 Freiburg
  • Union Berlin 1-1 Bochum
  • Eintracht Frankfurt 1-2 Bayer Leverkusen
  • Heidenheim 1-1 Mainz

Stefan’s Game of the Week: Union Berlin vs Bochum

Half the games in this matchday’s roster matter very little, but there’s no doubt that Bochum’s trip to the German capital is an undeniable relegation six-pointer. Union Berlin have been in a dreadful run of form over the past few months and this home tie with Bochum feels like their last opportunity to firmly keep the threat of relegation at bay. Equally, following an unexpected win last weekend, Heiko Butscher’s side will fancy their chances to cause an upset. Both times will be gunning for all three points and that should make for an excellent game.

Stefan’s Predictions:

  • Hoffenheim 1-2 RB Leipzig
  • Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Augsburg
  • Wolfsburg 2-0 Darmstadt
  • Werder Bremen 2-1 Gladbach
  • Stuttgart 2-1 Bayern Munich
  • Koln 0-2 Freiburg
  • Union Berlin 1-0 Bochum
  • Eintracht Frankfurt 2-2 Bayer Leverkusen
  • Heidenheim 1-2 Mainz

Scores after MD31: Manu – 188, Stefan – 206
