Arsenal supposedly could look to sign Newcastle UnitedEdit star Alexander Isak this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners will reportedly prioritize strengthening their front line by signing a new prolific goalscorer ahead of next season. Numerous forwards have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times, including Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres, but Isak is also reportedly on their radar.

writing in the Daily information, Roman has reported that Arsenal have been following Isak's performances since his days at Real Sociedad and after intense scrutiny, they have concluded that the Swede possesses the necessary attributes to play in Mikel Arteta's system so it would be an ideal option to reinforce your front line.

The journalist further claims that Newcastle could be willing to cash in on one of their key stars to remain on the right side of first divisionProfits and sustainability rule and could sell Isak.

However, Roman claims that Arsenal have not yet started concrete talks with Newcastle over the signing of Isak and that they have not yet decided who they want to buy to strengthen their attack with Gyokeres also on their wish list.

Isak to Arsenal

Romano wrote:

“Alexander Isak is another Newcastle player who is attracting interest and Arsenal have always appreciated him, even when he was at Real Sociedad. They've been scouting him for a while and consider him a really talented striker, and with the style they have, I think they appreciate him as a good fit for that style.

However, I am not aware of any direct contact or negotiations for Arsenal to sign Isak, so it is not concrete at this time. I also don't see Newcastle selling two or three important players; I think they will have to make a decision on who will leave the club.

“And with Arsenal, they have multiple candidates who could be up front, with Viktor Gyokeres one of the names on their list, as well as others, while a deal for Isak won't be easy.”

It has been suggested that Newcastle want a fee of around £100 million sell Isak this summer, so the north London club will have to spend a lot of money to attract him to the Emirates Stadium.

Isak has shown his qualities in the Premier League in recent times after moving to St James' Park a couple of years ago. The striker is a versatile player since he has characteristics of a center forward, but he can also be deployed on the left flank.

Therefore, the 24-year-old could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal if they secure his signature. However, Isak has had injury problems of late and therefore, Mikel Arteta's side should be wary of that before spending a huge fee on signing him.
